PROJECT DETAILS: Compuware Sports Arena is a new, state of the art, ice sports facility. Along with the Plymouth Whalers, Compuware Sports Arena is also home to the Detroit Compuware AAA Youth Hockey Club, and Detroit Catholic Central High School Hockey. The arena is also utilized for concerts, ice shows, high school graduations, trade shows, etc. The Compuware Sports Arena encompasses approximately 170,000 square feet with one main seating level, private suites and press boxes. The creative design of the arena affords the opportunity to provide 3,504 seats for Ontario Hockey League games and 4,500 seats for concerts and other performances. A second Olympic size ice surface has seating for 800. Four private luxury suites are located in the upper level of the arena. The fully accessible facility features one main concourse, two entrances to the building with convenient parking, covered canopies over all entrances, one elevator to supplement stairwell system, concessions, full service restaurant, public restrooms, figure skating locker room, medical room, weight room, and multiple team locker suites. The facility was designed with rigging capacity for 1000 lbs per joist, 24000 lbs. show load. A special de-humidification system was installed for humidity control at ice events.
